Me & Beyonce are Cool Baby-Namers!

So someone Tweeted me that my child-naming techniques are famous. I clicked on the link and there it was…

Look at the paragraph that starts with Whitsun. Then they wrote about ME and how we name our children!!! Whoever, you are, Jodi, thanks for submitting us!

I’m always honored to be mentioned in the same blog posts as Beyonce! Makes me want to dig out some gold glitter stilettos and (attempt) to shake my jelly!

(by the way…I do not think you’re ready.)

In case any of you are late to the baby-naming party, Beyonce & her man Jay-Z had a baby and named her Blue Ivy. Kinda cute, I think! She didn’t consult me on it, but that was probably because she didn’t know I was available.

Here are my posts about baby-naming, for any of you curious out there!

And, Beyonce, whenever Baby #2 is on the way, get in touch and I’ll consult (if I’m still available).

I loved the article! That’s what brought me here, and I’m so excited to have discovered such an amazing blog! God bless…

Ha, I just read your link-back to your baby-naming post and it reminds me of what we heard with our third. His middle name is Wolfgang for his paternal grandfather and everyone who hears that, including the nurses ask if its a family name. I must say, there have been stranger names than that relayed to me!

My older kids watched Henry V the other night, and afterwards Grace (age 17) commented… “Orison and Whitsun were in there – as words, I mean.” :)

Wonderful! We are in the process of coming up with names for a baby we’re expecting in May…I too love the idea of names that are words, but with our travels, we are open to other languages too. I love how in certain other cultures/languages, names will literally be “Happiness” or “Truth” or “Consistency.”

Truth be told, as soon as I saw the name Morrow when I started reading your blog, I got a little jealous that you thought of it first. We miscarried a baby last year, and the theme of “tomorrow” and “morning” were so strong to me in Scripture after that experience. I still kind of inwardly shutter, in a good way, each time I read that name here on this wonderful blog of yours.

Anyway, guess we’ll have to start reading through the dictionary… :)

I love & have used unusual names, too. But I have to say I think your choices are better than Beyonce’s! :)

You guys manage to be edgy, cool, and spiritual all at the same time! BAM!

It should be fun to buy a new car! Driving a new car is such a great experience,
and purchasing the car should be fun as well. A lot of people
would rather skip the whole purchasing process. Keep
the stress to a minimum using these tips.
