We’re in Colorado!

We’ve been in Colorado for a full 24 hours now. I’m happy to report that all has been without incident (aside from one vomit in the van from the 2-year-old and a little altitude-induced headache).

This is where we’re going on Monday:

We’re going to drive up Mt. Evans, which is apparently the highest paved road in North America! The drive up there sounds really freaky (lots of crazy turns, no guardrails, etc.), but I figure… I’m in COLORADO! Bring it on!

I’ll try to post some pictures from our time there. Stay tuned!

I live in Denver (beautiful isn’t it?) and I have to say that the road to Mt. Evans is quite a road. Kids may get car sick and it will be COLD up at the top, so make sure you have sweatshirts! Enjoy your time here in our BEAUTIFUL state!

    p.s. I’m a Mpls native :o)

    Welcome to Colorado!!

My family and I moved to Fort Collins (45 minutes north of Denver) 7 years ago this month from Florida (we had no fam out here). My #1 recommendation is to drink lots & lots of water. And see if big kids can have children’s dramamine (they may still be too little for it). The altitude is wicked!! My youngest threw up twice going up to Estes and coming down out of RMNP, not fun. The first time she got sick we were on our way up to take Christmas pics on Bear Lake. Goodness, I remember it like it was yesterday :-).

Where again are you living? It takes a while to acclimate to CO but I promise you will love it here. I will never live anywhere else. I pray my girls (ages 10/7) choose to stay here for college even though we are Florida Gators :-).

    Happy 4th. Have fun tomorow!

PS, you may need to designate a “puke bowl” for car rides. We did and also use it in the house. Keep paper towels and trash bags in the van as well.
