A Works For Me Wednesday: Video Edition
I’m teaming up with my friend Kristen from We Are THAT Family for a Works For Me Wednesday post, and I did a video! [hooting, hollering, lots of raucous cheering, please]
I met Kristen when I went to Birmingham for the Deeper Still event. I was sporting a new-to-me scarf that a friend had just given me, and I had it tied all fancy-like. I passed on what was of first importance, of course, and showed all my girls how to do it too!
Now, I’m not very good at accessories or hair. Seriously. I found out how to do this fancy scarf thingy by stopping a cute college girl at church (who happened to be a stranger) and asking her, “How did you do that?!?!” This very un-hip momma of 4 needs all the help she can get! She was gracious and showed me this fun new look!
So pop over to Kristen’s blog and see how it’s done! I promise you won’t be disappointed, even if you already know how to do this trick (hint: there’s a guest appearance at the end).

Lol! That video was hilarious! See what happens with sleep deprivation!!! But, I did learn a cool new way to wear a scarf….accessories are definitely not my strong point! :) Thanks for the laughs!
I normally save 22 Words for my last look at my reader, kind of a best for last. But if you and Aber have posted on the same day, I don’t care how many things there are to read on 22 Words, I save you for last. Today once again you have proved it’s worth it! Thanks for this very fun video!
YES. That is awesome! I love your how-to videos, since they end up being something I’ve been thinking “I want to know how to do that!” Your “how to fold a fitted sheet” is literally bookmarked on my computer because yeah, evidently i forget pretty much every time the sheets come out of the dryer.
I thought the video was great, especially watching your husband try to knot the scraf – nice touch.
I’m passing by to say hello. Thanks for the smile this morning.
God bless you.
Molly! I literally laughed out loud! My youngest daughter had to see what all of the commotion was about & she ran over to the computer to watch.
Thanks for a new way to tie a scarf. I received a new one for Christmas & now I have a new way to wear it.
educational, fashion foward and highly entertaining. i give this movie TWO thumbs up.
Literally LOL! It was like looking at Orison smile at the end there! FUN
Loved it! I will be wearing a scarf to accompany my sweats today…
Laughed out loud – great way to start the morning!
Thanks for the scarf tip too!
Oh molly! Thanks for that – I totally needed that laugh today! Your family brings me lots of joy :)
Fun and helpful–thanks!
Ah, I love the scarf!!! I’ll be watching this again Sunday morning! The humor at the end is great!
This is so great! haha – i laughed :) and a really cool way to wear a scarf :)
Hi Molly!! I so enjoy your blog and thought I’d comment, I have left only a few comments, which I think you have blogged about before, hope it doesn’t make me a blog stalker! I loved the scraf technique…and Abraham’s special guest apperance!:) I noticed your comment about not being so good at hair and accesories and I wanted to tell you about my fb fan page…I sell Premier Designs Jewelry, which if you haven’t heard about it, is a Biblical Based company who does homeshows, to sell jewelry and be a “Wardrobe Parametic :)” I like to say, but we also love to serve other women by helping them show their beauty from the inside out! My page is called Fashion Jewels! This week I am doing a whole feature on “Everday Fashion Idea’s!” They are practical and fun! :)
You guys are quite a team! Thanks so much for sharing your skillz :) It was a big hit, friend!
Thanks for the smiles this morning. I just got my first scarf for Christmas. Not sure I like them yet, but I just may try this fancy tie thing. :)
So I had to practice for a couple of days, but I think I’ve got it now – thanks for the tutorial ;-)
Love it! I was killing myself laughing at the end. And the scarf looks so cute like that.
I, too, am an un-hip momma of four – who happens to work with high school and college students at my church. I also just got my first accessory-type scarf, and while I was wearing it at church one of the high school girls I was chatting with said, “You should wear it like this,” and proceeded to do the very same trick you showed. Nice job on the video… both of you :)
Love it! I’ve asked a girlfriend or two how to do this, but I always forget by the time I actually have a scarf around my neck. Thanks for the how to… and the comedy. =)
You made me smile on a dark, dreary, rainy morning. Good thing I have to run errands today so I can show off my new-found scarf wearing skills! Thanks so much!!!
Thank you! I have bunches of scarves but am never sure how to wear them. Thanks to this video, I wore scarves in that knot no less than 3 times in the last several days. :)
Thanks for the tip! I love scarves, but I can never figure out how to wear them. Now I know! Love the video — the outtakes are the best.
I have a drawer full of scarves that I don’t wear because I can never make them look right. One in particular that I really like … just have never worn it. After watching your video, I thought that scarf would be perfect for this technique, and I had just gotten the coolest jacket at a thrift store that matched it …. so today I have the total look … and I’m so excited. At least a half dozen people have complimented my outfit. Thanks!!
I loved your scarf knot so much, I wore a scarf today and blogged about it tonight. I shared your awesome how-to video. I hope you don’t mind…

Here is another scarf trick. Fold in half, take both ends thru the loop, twist the loop and put both ends thru again. Viola! Another neato scarf! Can Abraham try that one too?! Thanks, made me laugh out loud down here at my desk in the basement of the church where I work.
For Christmas 2009 I received a beautiful scarf from my husbands aunt. I’m no fashionista, so I did my best to wrap it neatly enough to look classy for the flight home. In front of me at the security check in the airport was a must-be-a-super-model wearing a scarf like your video shows. Normally shy, but amazed at how spiffy and pulled together she looked (black pants, black high-heeled boots, fitted jacket, bright red scarf, black beret on her perfect bright red hair..), I blurted out, “How did you do that?! I’ve been fighting this scarf all day!” (my attempt at scarf draping/tying was not stay-put-friendly). She kindly showed me how it worked and VOILA! My scarf looked all spiffy and stayed put all day! Now if only I could bump into someone to help me with styling my hair, accessorizing, etc, etc;)
Thanks so much for the info and the beautiful pictures. I am the very proud grandfather and namesake for Whit but that little Cadence is also one beautiful grandaughter. (I’m not biased at all) Love to all the Pipers
