The Twins’ Room is Done!
This week I finished up the twins’ room! Now we just need two babies to come live in it!
Thanks to my small army of volunteers, here’s how it looks!

This is the girl crib:

This is the boy crib:

This is the boy dresser: (see, Jenny, I need your expert dot-placing help!!!)

Here’s the breakdown:
Jenna helped me sew the bumpers. She was the most patient person while I went from learning how to thread my sewing machine, to making my own bias tape, to finishing the final seam. We finished these bumpers a couple nights ago at 12:30am!
My friend Carol (who doesn’t have a blog) sewed the sheets with/for me. She’s a long-time friend of my husband’s family, and I’ve loved getting to know her through the years. Our times together are always special and really fun!
Abraham gave new life to two old dressers with his awesome paint job! I love how they turned out!
Jenny helped me with the vinyl transfer on the wall (“He gives”). Neither of us had ever done one before and it was kinda funny. She also did the dots over the red (girl) dresser. Everything she touches turns beautiful.
Danielle designed and ordered the “He gives” vinyl for me. She’s amazing.
If you look on the red dresser, you’ll see 3 little canvases. They were painted by my friend Andie. She made a second set for the other twin, but after we found out that Twin B was actually a boy, she offered to take them back and repaint them to look a little more boyish. She’s still working on the second set, and I’m so excited to see them (no pressure, Andie! I mean it!).
And also on the red dresser is a figure of a woman carrying two babies. That came from the amazing women at the Real Hope for Haiti Rescue Center, Licia and Lori! When my parents-in-law visited them a couple months ago, they gave this to them for me and told them that this type of figurine is very popular in the Haiti markets, but it was the first time they’d seen one with a woman holding 2 babies! Thank you, Licia & Lori and the whole Zachary clan. You all amaze me with your work and your hearts for people and God!
Now the countdown is ON! 3 more days!!!

OH! I love it! So, so sweet! And very soon there will be two precious little creatures enjoying the space you have prepared for them. Beautiful job, Molly & helpers!
Where did you get the fabric for the girl sheets? That pattern is SO cute!
It’s a little fabric store here called Crafy Planet. However, the designer is Momo and the fabric line is “Wonderland.” You can google those and find it on the internet.
I love it. Such a sweet space and the colors you chose for the dressers are great. I don’t know you but I am really excited to hear about their arrival.
I love it! Adorable. That decal is amazing!
I love the decal! I can’t wait to see your precious babies making use of that adorable room!
It’s always a neat thing for me when I cross a mom off of my list (I have a list of pregnant moms I pray for through delivery)because she has given birth and the baby (babies in your case)is here safely. I cannot WAIT to do that next week when your precious babies are here. I am praying and trusting that all will go well, and this time next week you will be holding two precious little ones in your arms. I LOVE the writing on the babies’ wall. You and I both know that He gives, AND He takes away, but this time Molly, I firmly believe He is going to GIVE…and how! I’m praying, praying, praying, and can’t wait to get the update that the little ones are here. God bless you all in the coming days. May He fill you with such peace that you have never experienced, so much so that there is NO ROOM for anxiety to creep in. Praying grace upon grace on you and your precious family…
Love, Kathryn
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I need your prayers!
Oh, Kathryn, I do the same thing! I am thinking of you, Molly. Your twins’ room looks beautiful.
Thanks Anna!
Amazing. Absolutely love the vinyl “He gives.” I still have a hard time with the verse of the song that goes, “He gives and takes away…..” The ache of the loss maybe doesn’t go away, but he DOES give. I know you can’t wait to hold these little ones in your arms. Still praying, can’t wait to see pictures.
Blessings,
Amanda
Forever missing Gavin 4/7-5/3/08
Thank you Amanda. I know, it was hard for me to put that on the wall in faith.
The baby room is beautiful! So inviting and warm. Your baby girl’s bedsheets looks really similar to your shower invitation design. It’s lovely!
I can’t wait to read the post on the twins’ names! :)
Really beautiful and hopeful! Good job you all!
amanda
It is absolutely perfect. Love the crib sheets!
What a beautiful room! On countdown with you, and trusting you will have two more precious children in your home soon.
Beautiful, Molly!!!! Sad I won’t get to play with the newest Piper kids. :(
Me too, Katie. Me. too.
LOVE it! Looks fantastic. It’s just my style, too. Your family is in our prayers. Great job on the room!
That is the cutest baby room. I LOVE the polka dots. You all did a beautiful job! Praying for you and your family as the next few days go by. God bless!!
The polka dots are just wall stickers from JoAnn Fabrics! You can take them off and move them around as often as you want!
They’re great! Praying for you today!
Oh my goodness. OH MY GOODNESS. It is perfect. Absolutely and totally perfect. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
“He Gives” is so perfect. So, so perfect.
And I’m in love with the fabric…especially the flower sheet. Love.it!
I LOVE it!!
It’s great! Lots of love went into that room, which makes it extra special! Praying for you in the coming days and weeks…

Absolutely adorable! I love, love, love the girl sheet material. Praying for a happy, healthy delivery and happy, healthy babies.
Thanks for letting us all see their room! It looks awesome!
August 1st is Lina’s b-day. As I celebrate her, you will be on my mind. I hope you can feel ready and not think, “I wish I would/could have done…” before they come.
I’m praying fervently that their birth will be an incredibly peaceful, Spirit-filled, memorable, and joyous experience.
I’m trusting God and eagerly anticipating with you!
Much Love,
Andrea
THREE DAYS!?!?! Very excited for you! I love “He Gives”, so beautiful!!
Molly! It totally is awesome to see the room. it is amazing and beautiful. I love love love it.
It also helps me to see the room for adjusting the second set.
Love you guys!
It’s perfect, Molly! I’ve always been so jealous of people who can take old furniture and make them beautiful with a can of paint and I’m super impressed with your sewing skills. Now you just need a couple of babies to complete that lovely room…
Three days! Wheee!
My eyes welled with tears when I saw the decal on the wall – - it’s SO encouraging and amazing to see you praising God for his good gifts! Praying for you. I CANNOT WAIT to read their story and see pictures!
thanks for sharing this! it’s beautiful, unique (in a good way), and meaningful. kind of like a good wedding. love it! i can’t believe you only have three more days left…for real?! i look forward with you to the goodness of these two new lives. wow.
Oh so cute! Love it all! Where did your friend Danielle order the vinyl “He Gives”? I love that idea.
Also, I agree with other commenters’ thoughts on “He Gives”…it’s easy for me to focus on the “He takes away” part of that verse/song and lose sight of the “He gives” part. I’ve actually been thinking about that alot this summer, so it’s fun to see it on a wall! Great idea.
I’ve been thinking about you everyday lately. I feel this connection to you with Kate next-door. I am praying for you that God gives His abundant strength. Let your presence be felt Lord, The nursery is adorable. Love those attic ceiling special places.
I absolutely love it!
Love that. Every single bit of it. But especially the “He gives” on the wall. That made my heart swell up with hope for you guys. Here’s to a safe and easy delivery!
LOVE those dressers. Everything about the whole room is adorable.
Charming and sweet! Praying for you and a safe delivery for your babies.
What an absolutely precious room!

It’s just lovely, Molly. I think of you so often and am counting down the days with you. I can’t WAIT to meet those babies!
Can’t think of a better way to put it…it’s simply perfect! I love attic bedrooms with slanting ceilings, and the cozy feel that gives! The colors are great, too, especially since it’s a girl AND a boy.
The vinyl letters “He Gives” are the icing. Yum!
I can’t believe it’s only 3 days away!! How amazing! Praying for you and these little ones!!
I love the room! You will be in my heart and prayers. May I BEG for one more pregnancy picture before you have those babies if you have the time?????
The room is so sweet! I love the coordinating fabrics … its perfectly suited for a boy and a girl. “He gives” is beautiful too.
I LOVE the room. I am in awe that all of the bedding was handmade! It gives me courage to work on a few furniture painting projects. Also, is it weird that I am seriously giddy, excited for you guys?
Beautiful and delightful!
Now I can’t wait to meet them <3
Praise the Lord! :) We are continuing to pray for you and your growing family. We too just found out we are pregnant after losing our precious Avery in February. Reading your story gives me hope! Thank you for being so transparent about your feelings :)
Beautiful and delightful!
Omigosh, Molly… the time is so very near. I wish you a beautiful day where you meet your newest babies.
God bless.
The entire room is beautiful, but the vinyl took my breath. I’m guilty of too often focusing on the ‘take’ and forgetting how gracious He is too. We are expecting our rainbow baby (we haven’t even told most our friends so I’m surprised I just wrote that) and if things go well I may have to do something similar for him or her. Thanks for the reminder of his blessings!
I LOVE it!!!
Looks lovely, Molly!

Hi Molly,
Just stopped by for the first time and wanted to say hi! Love your babies’ new room…so cute and way to go with the sewing projects!! I just spent some time reading your story and my heart breaks from your pain. Our 4th son went home to be with the Lord in Dec. 2002. That journey of grief, so unpredictable, difficult and painful, but God does bring blessing and beauty from the pain. I can’t wait to check back and rejoice with you at God’s blessing with the birth of your twins.
God Bless,
Stacy
We are so excited for you!
LOVE it!!
I LOVE the nursery! Great colors and fabric!!
Love it! That’s great that you were able to coordinate but still let the girl’s stuff be girly. The polka dots are cute!
