A Great Mother’s Day Weekend
I know it’s kinda late in the week to be posting about Mother’s Day, but I just wanted to share about the weekend. I had a lot of FUN this Mother’s Day!
It started on Friday when Abraham told me he’d been given 2 tickets to the new Target Field (home of the Minnesota Twins) for the Saturday afternoon game. It was supposed to be rainy and cold but we decided to be true Minnesotans and go out to the game anyway! I took my 24-week picture, of course…the twins at the Twins!
By the way, those weren’t our seats. Ours were up in the top deck, but we decided to explore a bit after the game. It was fun to just get to sit together for a couple hours, even if we could see our breath and had to wear winter hats!
Then on Sunday, we had a lovely time at church, went out to lunch with Abraham’s parents and sister, and then went home to lay down!
After naps we went out to Dairy Queen, where I got my favorite Butterfinger Blizzard. Here’s an attempt at a good picture:
After DQ, we went to the cemetery. The kids just run and have fun there, which is kinda cool. I had to bribe them to sit for this one.
I was able to snap a quick one of Morrow while he was on the run:
The only sad part was when we were driving away, Morrow said, completely unprompted, “Bye-bye, dee-dee-dee.” Translation: Bye-bye, Felicity.
Here’s a couple more pictures from recent days, just because I’m crazy about these guys:
I’m so deeply thankful that I get to mother these two characters. And I’m happy to report that this Mother’s Day brought more smiles than tears. That’s a blessed change.

LOVE the belly pic! So cute!
What a great Mother’s Day! It’s so precious that Morrow said bye-bye to his sister. So so sweet.
<3
i think we should try family pics again while i’m there…and maybe maternity ones, too.
So glad this one brought more smiles! :) And I love that Morrow calls her dee dee dee!
By the way, is that my maternity dress you’re wearing?! It looks like it! I was wondering if Jenna had given that one to you! You look cute in it!
Thanks for sharing this Molly. I thought about you on Mothers Day, and prayed that it would be a joyful day for you. Thanks for these sweet pictures.
Lina loves these pics of Morrow! She’s talking to him, playing peek-a-boo, and asking for him to sit on her lap.
I’m so glad you had a happy Mother’s Day.
Hi! I’ve recently found your blog and am truly inspired! I have 3 boys and don’t know how I would deal with losing any of them. I lost my father at a young age and that was a struggle. I’ve always hoped I would never have to lose a child too. Death is such a hard thing to deal with and a constant fear for me sometimes too. But, I have learned that no matter if the worst happens to me, God is always there to pick me back up. I am so glad He is picking you back up too. (I hope I don’t sound too corny!) Anyways, your story is truly encouraging and courageous to say the least. I am so thankful God is blessing your family with two little girls…wow! I am praying for you, your family, and your little babies! Happy Late Mother’s Day!
I’m so happy for this update. Your boys are growing and just so adorable! You look beautiful.
Oh, this post. Wow. Joy means so much more when it follows sorrow (or rather, is all mixed up in it), huh?
I love the twins and the Twins pic!
And I LOVE that Morrow calls his sister dee-dee-dee. Melt my heart. And could those boys BE any cuter??
When Livi and Ava were little and Gabe had our only car all day, I’d push them in our double jogging stroller through a beautiful cemetery. I always ended up at the same place–where so many babies and little ones were buried. I would read their names and their dates of birth and death and think about the families that missed them and ask God to comfort them as they hurt.
I wish you didn’t have to go to a cemetery to spend time with your beautiful baby girl. Love you, friend!
Ah, Molly! So nice to see your adorable kids and hear about your fun weekend. (Twins at the Twins, that’s funny!) It made me so happy to read that your Mother’s Day was “more smiles than tears.” Yay for restoration!
Praise the Lord Molly. The report of more smiles makes me VERY happy for you. Your boys are adorable!
I remember your post from last mother’s day and was just thinking it is AMAZING what God can do in such a short time – in our hearts and in our lives. I am so thankful this day was filled with more smiles this time around! (although I definitely teared up when you wrote about Morrow saying goodbye…) I pray Jesus will continue to increase your joy!
so thankful you had an encouraged day…yay for more smiles than tears!!
I’m so proud of you.
And happy that you had a happy day :)
So glad it was a joyous day for you!
So glad this was a day filled with more smiles than tears. Your tears have been beautiful to me, too, but I am warmed to see God with you through the *whole* journey.
Beautiful:)
Molly- Love the pics. Morrow is so cute- love the reddish hair! What a doll.
Morrow is so stinkin’ cute! Wow, he is big. What a dear. Thanks for sharing the joys of this day.
Molly, I’m new to your blog but have hardly stopped thinking about your family and your story since I “found you” a week or so ago. It’s really great to see all of you looking so happy! Praise God for the amazing work He is doing in your lives!
You look wonderful! Your boys are so precious. Thank you for sharing!
It’s not a true Mother’s Day without Dairy Queen. Unless you have moved away from the Midwest, and then you have to find something to substitute (which is not nearly as good).
Blessings!
So happy for you Molly! What a wonderful weekend indeed!
Molly,
Hello! I am glad to hear that you had a great mother’s day! The boys are so cute. Thanks for posting the pictures and the twins at the Twins game!!
Anna Olson
Such a sweet story – our kids love to run and play at the cemetery where our oldest is buried. And on Mother’s Day, when we stopped by, our younger daughter ran up and kissed the picture of her sister on the gravestone. Sweet but heart-breaking.
Molly, I may have said it before, but I love your honesty.
Oh Molly, the belly picture is just precious. You look beautiful. I continue to pray for you and those precious little girls. Praying for the Lord to continue to carry you through this pregnancy:)

You look absolutely adorable, Molly!! What a beautiful family! So thankful the day was a good one for you. God is faithful.
what a wonderful day. I have to admit. I do miss Felicity terribly for you.
So glad it was a great weekend!
You are such a beautiful mom- and look SO cute pregnant! Your sons are so lucky to have such a woman of the Lord as their mother. I always look forward to reading your posts and I feel like I learn from so many of them.
Happy (belated) mothers day! You have two precious boys and I know we’re all praying for your two wonderful daughters on the way!
Just wanted to let you know that i heard your story from my good friend, Anna Mathis who is David’s younger sister. I am an identical twin girl and love it!! we are best friends and, since age 20 when we both became believers…i kinda led her to Jesus…we are true sisters in Christ, even having the same job now-both on staff with campus outreach..i’m married and she is single! anyway, i was just encouraged by your faith and loved hearing your story!!! God bless your family and the twins!!
Been following your pregnancy with prayer and warm wishes. Sharing your joy and fears, grateful for your sweet mother’s day.
What great pictures. And how precious (though it brings tears to the eyes as it tugs at the heart) that Morrow told Felicity bye when you left the cemetery.
Wishing you and your family all the best.
Kindest regards.
