I don’t sew yet, but if I did, I’d make this.
My husband’s uber-talented cousin Sunny has a very informative step-by-step post about how to make this homemade tent.
I think this is so adorable, and totally want to make one. I was thinking it might have to wait until Christmas, but it’s somewhere on my radar, at least.
I just LOVE this thing!
What crafty projects are on your wish-I-could-do list?

Hi Molly, I started following your blog a few months ago when my cousin told me I should read it. This is my first comment. :) I’ve seen these tents on etsy.com for sale. You could check it out. On my to-do list is to make a cute sign. Bought an oval-shaped unfinished wood sign at Michaels and painted it white. Next I’m going to add the words “gerbigs” and “est. 2003″ underneath that, functioning as a cute piece of art that will go next to our front door. It’s fun to make our house a home. :) And that is a fun tent.
That tent is a great idea! How fun! Thanks for asking about crafty projects…I look forward to learning what ideas other folks have.
I’m building a “cave” out of fabric around our son’s bed to give him some more “guy space.” I read that you can buy curtain-hanging tracks from Ikea, attach those to the ceiling & hang the fabric on that. I’ll probably just nail mine up, though.
I want to try to make these fabric headbands: http://www.savvyseams.com/acc/headbands.php I’m sloooowly learning how to sew…but I love it on the rare occasions that I get to do it. There are tons of things like quilts and baby blankets, etc. that I’d like to do, too.
I’d like to learn how to crochet more than just one long chain :) And would love to learn to knit. Some day.
For the kids: we’ll probably make some castinets out of folded up pieces of cardboard with old buttons glued on the inside tomorrow.
And I decided to recover our chairs (Ha, ha). I love crafty things…I just get interested in too much at once :)
i’d love to knit a christmas stocking for each person in my family. even bought the how-to-book, needles, and yarn. but first i have to learn how to knit! and that first step is what keeps this project on the way back burner…
Pretty much everything in the book, “Handmade Beginnings: 24 Sewing Projects to Welcome Baby” by Anna Maria Horner. I would love to make the quilt, the Dad bag, the dress on the cover…even though I’m not welcoming a baby anytime soon :)
You should totally learn how to sew. But even without, I’m sure you could put this together with some of that heat and bond stuff (the iron non new-sew stuff). Everything is straight seams. You wouldn’t even have to finish the edges of the tent door because they line up with the selvedge of the fabric. And since you have ohsomuch time on your hands with 2 boys and twins on the way…this is totally doable (LOL)
The I have a huge list that I’ve created from
http://www.knock-offwood.com/
Starting with a Bigger kids picnic table, a rustic table and benches, and bookshelves. But before I can do any of that we have to pull nails out of our 100 year old reclaimed flooring so we can get into the garage again. But before we can do that, we have to build a fence.
I get so tired of this whole “work first, play later” thing.
So, so many things I want to do…finish my niece’s birthday shirt and skirt, her birthday is next week. Butterflies for my daughter’s walls, canvases with my son’s initials for his room. And NOW, a super cute indoor tent for my kiddos. Wouldn’t they love it?!
I don’t sew yet either, but since looking at other people’s blogs i have a lot of stuff I want to do.
These:

I LOVE THEM!!!!! But I won’t spend $30 on an apron.
I love these too! My mommy actually just surprised me with one on Easter and I am in love with it. Anthropologie is wonderful…I just wish it wasn’t so spendy. And I wished I sewed — it would be lovely to make that kind of stuff for friends/family!
About 10 years ago I found a one of these at a craft festival and all four of my kids (two girls and two boys) have love it! I have often wanted to have a pattern for one of these. I hope you get to make it – the kids will have hours of fun… and parents too!
i love this one the best… http://racheldenbow.blogspot.com/2010/01/teepee.html
I had one of these tents when I was a kid. It had Care Bears on it, which made it fantastic!
I’d like to make curtains to brighten up our kitchen windows and keep the afternoon sun out, but have searched and can’t find any fabric that is funky and cute AND in my price range (even with Joann coupons).
My dream print is the floral one here: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/outdoor-pillows/decorating-and-accessories/1
Sigh . . .
Knit. Everything I do comes out a trapezoid.
I’ll be happy to teach you how to make the tent.
