Telling Orison About TWINS!

I thought some of you would like to see the video of Abraham and me telling 5-year-old Orison about his twin sisters. Actually, I know some of you want to see this, because you specifically asked me to film it!

A little background…Orison desperately wanted a sister this time around. He’s been praying for another one for two and a half years! So this was a sweet moment all around.

Enjoy!

this is so dear it brings tears to my eyes. we had a 3 year old and 22 month old when we found out at our 20 week ultrasound that we were having twins… same thing – we had always found just one heartbeat and I was just measuring a little big…. such a fun surprise! the weight gain came fast, and finally huge and healthy babies were born. Now the twins are 21 months old, big brother is 5 and big sister is about to be 4. we are amazed at God’s great kindness to our family, as well as how he has stretched my capacity to be mommy to all these dear ones. good things are in store for you!

  24. Jenny says:

I have been following you for awhile, having gone to Bethlehem in my college days. LOVED this video, as did my daughter (who is the same age as Morrow). I, too, like so many others, began to tear up when Morrow said, “Actually 5!” Just love how his little heart is so conscious and tender of his sister’s life, even though it was not lived on this earth. Truly a sweet family you are blessed with.

  37. Lou Ann says:

Don’t want to overwhelm your comment box with “Comment Love” but had to tell you how lovely and tender Orison’s comment was. 23 years ago I was pregnant with twins, had a 3 year old and my second son turned 2 on April 1. My oldest son who turned 4 just before the twins arrived would draw pictures of me as a big B with two little stick figures in the bottom of the B. These drawings are still precious to us. It is such a blessing to have multiples. So, we had 4 sons 4 years old and under. A helpful book I used was call “My first 300 babies” and those early years many states away from family was manageable and days I miss even now. I rejoice in God’s abundant blessings to you. Our precious only daughter arrived 3 years later, Emilie. (ps she was one of Orison’s Sunday School helpers when he was 3 and she was an Insight student)

    • Jenny says:

Mrs. Brown – totally was reading your comment and thought, this sounds like Mrs. Brown! Crazy to see you on here. :-) Love your story.
      - Jenny “Jeffrey”

      • Lou Ann says:

Hi Jenny, Yah it is me. I do appreciate reading these posts and having twins is something I identify with in joy. I have learned much about grieving a loss through Molly that has helped me minister to others. Small world when you are part of the body. Read yours and Kate’s since your mom shared the sites with me. maybe your next will be two! How cool would that be?

  38. Ashleigh says:

The “Actually 5!” is the thing that got me bawling! Kids just have a way of making the bittersweet SOO sweet! My girls never forget to include their brother Ethan (who was stillborn in June of ’07) into the mix when counting family members! “You have four kids mom…but it’s actually five kids!” What a blessing. Congrats Piper family….my heart is overwhelmed by God’s goodness!!

  39. Keely Scott says:

ahhhh THE CUTEST!!!! Congrats!! love love, keely

If Orison already acts like that, he will be an excellent big brother to your two daughters. By the way, you have to save that video to show his wife someday, seriously.

I have to say, though, Morrow’s “yeah!” is too cute for words.

  42. Amber says:

I’m totally going to cry. This is precious.

“We have twins?!” << the look on his face here is priceless

"I like ginger ale!" << lol

  43. ebe says:

Oh my goodness. I hate that he understands the brokenness and decay of this world, but the hope of Heaven and the understanding of what we GET when we die, that is priceless, you know?

I have two girls also, and I can’t even tell you enough the joy these two bring into my life. Congratulations!!!

Thanks for bringing tears of joy once again! We LOVE sharing things with our 4-year old & seeing the response. Orison seems like such a sweetheart! Oh my Molly, when he said, “So we have 4 babies.” I knew in your heart what you were really thinking, but then that sweet little boy, with His, “actually 5″ he knew too. I see that same thing with all my kids, but when they are so young and really get it, it just tugs at your heart. I never want my kids to forget Samuel and then I am reminded that it will be almost impossible. We value life, and are repeatedly reminded of what a blessing he was… just like your sweet daughters and just like these 2 new daughters. What an amazing blessing Molly. I am praising God with you… If I could ask for prayer for something… I haven’t been able to conceive again since losing Samuel almost 17 months ago. I long for the Lord to open my womb again. Thanks Molly!

So thankful for the 2 very precious, little miracles you are growing:) Absolutely adorable video:)

  133. You know… I just re-watched this… Maybe Orison knew something the ultrasound techs took a couple more weeks to find out! So he got his first spontaneous wish! :)
