Exactly like you. So much like you, in fact, that I try - as much as possible - to get home from trips early enough in the day that I'm not up half the night unpacking. That can really be a pain, especially when you've been camping. My next door neighbors don't appreciate me banging around in the garage, hanging the tent on the line to dry out etc. at 3 a.m. I always leave my house perfectly clean so that I'll come home to a perfectly clean house. That works - pretty much - except for the windows. I have no control over rainfall while I'm on a trip, so I do occasionally come home to dirty windows - which also need to be washed before I can relax and go to bed. This was especially problematic when I returned from a 3 week trip to China. I was washing windows (thankfully the kind that bend so that you can wash them from inside the house) in a jet-lagged stupor. My friends, at that point, decided to slap that OCD label on me. Ugh.

I *think* I'm the first guy to comment. I'm a regular traveler (mostly business, sometime pleasure), and I, too, am a compulsive unpacker.

Oh, and my wife simply LOVES this about me....

I'm definitely not a compulsive unpacker...I got home from Europe this saturday and I did put all the dirty clothes in the laundry basket, and then unpacked everything else on Sunday...and then finally hung all my clean clothes last night...

I do prefer to unpack right away, too. Thankfully, Bryan agrees and helps me in this endeavor after every trip. :)

I always unpack right away and get at least the first load of laundry done. My husband "fought" me on this forever and would help unpack while grumbling, but my "see, isn't it nice not to have to wake up to it tomorrow?" comment has finally helped him see the light... I think.

We got back last night from a weekend trip. We had to leave almost everything in the car because of the torrential downpour happening when we pulled into our parking space. So, I didn't really get a chance to unpack right away.

To me, it depends on the time of day we return. If it is the afternoon, then I definitely try to unpack. If it is late, then it all waits until tomorrow.

I usually don't feel like thinking about it until the next day. But if I'm visiting someone with a washing machine, I usually do my laundry there so all I have to do is put my clean clothes away.
