Free Download of Not For Sale

During the month of February, you can download the audio version of Not For Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade and How We Can Fight It for FREE!

I just finished the download, and it worked really well. I’m eager to start listening.

Thanks to Shawnda for posting about this.

I think it would be amazing if hundreds (thousands?) of us downloaded this book and learned more about this incredibly important social justice issue.

So let’s…

  • Post about this offer on our blogs.
  • Tweet it.
  • Email friends.

What would happen? What could happen?

Educating ourselves is the first scary step. Do we really want to know about this? I confess that too often I’ve kept painful issues at arm’s length, knowing that if I let them closer I might actually have to care.

So here I am, throwing off the temptation of apathy and taking the first step. Will you walk with me?

I just downloaded this as well. I’m not sure I actually have ten hours to listen to it any time soon, though, but I’m going to start it and maybe buy the book instead.

    Thanks for sharing!

I have a million excuses not to download this — my all too active imagination, the nightmares that will haunt me. And so, I often avoid details; my heart feels like it will fail when I hear them. I will think about them for weeks, months, years. My imagination is too vivid too keep any story I hear at arms length. I can feel what it would be like.

Yesterday I finished Noel’s book, Faithful Women and Their Extraordinary God. I cried through the whole thing. I had nightmares last night. I hated that. But I am also coming to grips that this might be the very thing we are commanded to do: “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”

This morning I found a strange peace. I had not expected God to comfort me for their trials. But when I woke up the words of Psalm 63 were going through my mind, starting at the beginning until I got to the line, “Because your love is better than life,/ my lips will glorify you.”

I want to encourage your readers who are like me to download the message. Not to shy away from this because it sounds difficult to bear, but to suffer alongside them for the sake of Christ. He will comfort even us who only taste their bitter trials.
